Here are some of the milestone projects which Lanka Deep Wells have undertook over the past few years
Government Projects
The main scope of Lanka Deep Wells was to identify the prospecting locations for water in these villages in hand with C.B.O's (Community Based Organisations), drill deep wells according to the water requirement of the village and conduct pumping test to determine the safe yield of water. Water is a vital part for a sustenance of a village hence we are happy to be in the frontlines and provide the necessary services.
CWSSP
CWSSP or the COMMUNITY WATER SUPPLY & SANITATION PROJECT funded by the World Bank in the year 2007, was designed to assist the Provincial Councils and Pradeshiya Sabas to facilitate Community Based Organizations in providing improved water supply and sanitation facilities to selected Grama Niladari divisions in four provinces. The project promotes participatory approach where communities are expected to participate actively in decision making at all stages of sub-propjet implementation. The communities are responsible for construction, O&M of water supply and sanitation facilities. The project was implemented under the Ministry of Urban Development and Sacred Area Development.
WaSSIP (Water Supply & Sanitation Improvement project) is implemented in November 2015, with the objective of increasing access to piped water services & improving sanitation for more than 426,000 beneficiaries, WaSSIP aspires to increase access to piped water services and improve sanitation in the selected districts; and to strengthen the capacity of associated institutions; increasing the access to safe piped water supply to 60 percent of the population from the current coverage of 44 percent.In completion of the project (we wish to) have improved the living standards and social inclusion by increasing the quality of services, reducing the prevalence of malnutrition and expanding social inclusion and equitable access.
